The obliquely cut hook blade with degrees and wedges, also called Jupiter cut, should be at least 2.5 times, preferably 3 times as long as the square timbers to be connected are high. The oblique incisions and the height of the hook should be one-fifth to one-sixth of the height. In addition, the burr cut should be made with a quarter of the wood width to the right angle. The connection is closed by the wedges and can be re-wedged. Pressure, tension and lateral thrust are balanced against each other, additional safeguards are not necessary. Pressure, tension and shearing forces can be absorbed.

Das schräg eingeschnittenes Hakenblatt mit Grad und Keilen, auch Jupiterschnitt genannt soll im Minimum 2,5 mal, besser 3 mal so lang sein wie die zu verbindenden Kanthölzer hoch sind. Die schrägen Einschnitte und die Hakenhöhe sollen ein Fünftel bis ein Sechstel der Höhe betragen. Darüber hinaus soll der Gratschnitt mit einem Viertel der Holzbreite zum rechten Winkel angelegt sein. Durch die Keile wird die Verbindung geschlossen und kann nachgekeilt werden. Druck-, Zug- und Seitenschub werden abgewogen gegeneinander aufgenommen, zusätzliche Sicherungen sind nicht notwendig. Es können Druck-, Zug- und Scherkräfte aufgenommen werden.
